The product problem
A marketplace succeeds when both sides know what to do next.
Marketplaces carry two sets of needs at once. Freelancers need a credible way to present their work and find suitable opportunities. Clients need an efficient way to discover talent, understand fit, and move toward hiring.
The product challenge is not simply displaying profiles and listings. It is designing the decisions, signals, and transitions that make participation useful for both sides.
